Every GTA Online heist: what to buy, how many players and how much it pays

Updated: 06.11.2026 Author: Alex Rayne
Shootout from a helicopter over Los Santos in GTA Online

Every GTA Online heist from The Fleeca Job to The Kortz Center Heist: release dates, the property you need, player counts, estimated payouts after the July 2026 changes, Cayo Perico solo and tips on where to start.

In short
  • Heists arrived in GTA Online on March 10, 2015; the latest big one is The Kortz Center Heist (July 14, 2026).
  • Most heists are started by the owner of a property: a High-End Apartment, the Facility, the Arcade, the Kosatka, the Agency or a Mansion with an Art Studio.
  • Cayo Perico, Kortz Center, the Dr. Dre contract, The Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid and KnoWay Out can be done solo.
  • In July 2026, payouts for Cayo Perico, Diamond Casino and Doomsday went down, and a bonus for the first completion of the week was added; it has its own column in the table.
  • All figures below come from guides and player data; Rockstar doesn't publish official payout tables.

How GTA Online heists work

GTA Online heists are big multi-part jobs: first the setup missions (scouting, vehicles, equipment), then the finale. They are launched by the host, the player who bought the required property. The rest of the crew can join without owning it and get their cut or a fixed fee.

Heists don't all pay the same way. The original 2015 heists split the total between the crew in percentages set by the host. The newer ones (Cayo Perico, Kortz Center) pay based on the value of the loot you carry out. In July 2026, together with The Kortz Center Heist, Rockstar changed the economy: the host gets a higher payout for the first finale completion of the week, and repeat runs until Thursday pay less. Rockstar officially named The Contract, The Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid and Oscar Guzman Flies Again among these activities; according to RockstarINTEL's summary of the patch notes, the rule also covers the Original Heists, The Diamond Casino Heist and KnoWay Out. Cayo Perico is not on the list.

How to read the table. GTA$ amounts are the total finale payout for the whole crew before cuts, fees and setup costs, per GTABase and GTA Boss after the July 2026 changes. The exceptions are the Dr. Dre contract and the raids, where the amount to the host is shown. "First of the week" is the payout if the host has not completed that finale since the Thursday update; for the original heists it is roughly 1.5x more; the table shows Normal amounts. Every crew member gets a cut of at least 15% (GTA Boss and GTA Wiki). Property prices are the cheapest options, without sales.

The original 2015 heists

The Original Heists (The Fleeca Job, The Prison Break, The Humane Labs Raid, Series A Funding and The Pacific Standard Job) are launched from the planning room of a High-End Apartment (the cheapest ones cost GTA$200,000). They are run by Lester and his crew and have to be played in order. The Fleeca Job is built for two players, the rest for four.

This is the best start for a new player: the investment is minimal, and The Fleeca Job also unlocks a trade price on the Karin Kuruma (Armored), from 698,250 down to GTA$525,000 per GTABase. The Prison Break and later need a full crew, so look for friends or other players in Rockstar sessions.

The Diamond Casino Heist: approaches and payouts

The Diamond Casino Heist (12/12/2019) is launched from the Arcade (from GTA$1,235,000). First you scope out the casino and do the "Vault Contents" mission, which shows what is in the vault, then the host picks one of three approaches. You need two to four players; it cannot be done solo.

ApproachHow it plays
Silent & SneakyGet in unseen, avoid or quietly take out the guards, and carry the loot out without anyone knowing.
The Big ConEnter the casino disguised as staff or contractors and reach the vault without raising the alarm.
AggressiveFight your way to the vault, blow the door and break out with the loot.

The approaches are described per GTABase and GTA Wiki. The approach decides which setup missions you have to do, but the payout depends on the vault target and difficulty:

Vault targetNormalHardFirst of the week (Normal)First of the week (Hard)
Cash1,480,5001,628,5502,753,7303,029,103

Diamonds2,303,0002,533,3004,283,5804,711,938

GTA$ amounts for the whole crew before the split and the cuts for Lester and the hired specialists, per GTA Boss; the Hard and first-completion-on-Hard figures match GTABase. Hard pays 10% more than Normal. Before the July 2026 changes, diamonds on Normal paid 3.29M.

The Doomsday Heist: payouts by act

The Doomsday Heist (12/12/2017) has three acts, each with its own setup missions and finale. It runs from the Facility (from GTA$1,250,000) and needs two to four players. Setup costs GTA$25,000 per act (GTABase, GTA Boss, GTA Wiki).

Act (finale)NormalHardFirst of the week (Normal)First of the week (Hard)
Act I: The Data Breaches877,5001,096,8751,072,3051,340,381
Act II: The Bogdan Problem1,282,5001,603,1251,567,2151,959,019
Act III: The Doomsday Scenario1,620,0002,025,0001,979,6402,474,550

GTA$ amounts for the whole crew before the split, per GTABase and GTA Boss. Hard pays 25% more than Normal. After the July 2026 changes the Doomsday payouts were first cut and then, on July 16, partly restored according to GTA Boss; the table already reflects that.

The Contract (Dr. Dre)

The Contract (2021) with the F. Clinton and Partner agency (the Agency) gives you the Dr. Dre contract. After the 2026 changes the finale, "Don’t F*** With Dre", pays the host around GTA$900,000, and 1,099,800 for the first completion of the week (per GTABase and GTA Boss). The contract can be done solo, which is why 2026 guides rank it among the best ways to make money as a solo player.

Cayo Perico: the solo heist

The Cayo Perico Heist came out on December 15, 2020 and is still the most popular heist for solo players. You need the Kosatka submarine: GTA$2,200,000 on the Warstock Cache & Carry website. The first run is free; every run after that costs GTA$100,000 for the setup (per GTABase).

Primary targetNormal, GTA$Hard, GTA$
Sinsimito Tequila400,000440,000
Ruby Necklace560,000616,000
Bearer Bonds616,000677,600
Pink Diamond910,0001,001,000
Madrazo Files (first run only)1,100,000—

Values after the July 2026 changes, per GTABase and GTA Boss; before them the Pink Diamond paid 1.3M. The Panther Statue only appears during events. Hard mode adds 10% to the primary target, but it only switches on if you start scoping soon after your previous finale.

  • Cooldown between runs: according to guides, 144 real-time minutes after a solo run and 48 minutes after a crew run. Rockstar does not publish these numbers.
  • No weekly bonus. Unlike other heists, Cayo Perico does not pay more for the first completion of the week, and repeat runs before Thursday most often roll the cheapest target, the tequila (GTABase and GTA Boss).
  • Secondary targets (gold, cocaine, paintings, weed, cash) fill a bag of limited size; according to GTABase, a stack is worth from ≈71K (cash) to ≈300K (gold). The gold in the compound sits behind doors that need two keycards swiped at the same time, so it is out of reach solo; for a single player, guides recommend cocaine.
  • Elite Challenge: +GTA$50,000 (+100,000 on Hard) if you finish in under 15 minutes, fail no hacks, leave with full bags, lose no one and are not spotted in the compound (per GTABase).

After the July nerf, Cayo is no longer the most profitable heist per hour, but it is still the cheapest way into a solo heist with a big one-off payout.

The Kortz Center Heist

The latest big heist came out on July 14, 2026. The target is the Kortz Center museum. To host it you need a Mansion from Prix Luxury Real Estate, from GTA$11,500,000 (Tongva Estate; Vinewood Residence is 12.2M, Richman Villa 12.8M), and the Art Studio room for GTA$4,700,000. Crew members don't need to buy anything. Setup starts from the planning board in the Art Studio or by calling Raf De Angelis.

The heist can be played solo or with a crew of up to four, but some valuable secondary targets aren't available solo. The key rule is the weekly bonus: the first primary target sold after the Thursday update is worth several times more. In GTA Boom's tests, the La Dernière Débauche painting paid GTA$1,925,000 on the first sale and 481,250 on a repeat. GTABase puts the first sale at 1.34–2.12M depending on the painting. Which paintings are available this week is on the weekly update page.

Where to start: tips

  • With no money: play The Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid and KnoWay Out. They need no property, and the first finale of the week pays more.
  • Your first millions: a High-End Apartment and the original heists with friends, then the Kosatka for Cayo Perico.
  • Mid-game: the Agency and the Dr. Dre contract every week, alongside the other heists with the weekly bonus.
  • Veterans: Kortz Center once a week, and the rest of the time a rotation of heists and businesses.
  • Watch the 2X and 3X weekly bonuses: sometimes they apply to heists.

More on making money is in the guide how to make money in GTA Online, and more on properties on the GTA Online businesses page. The game overview is on the GTA Online page.

How do I start a heist in GTA Online?
