How the GTA Online weekly update works
Rockstar runs the GTA Online weekly update every Thursday: bonuses, discounts, the podium car, test drives and challenges all change. Rockstar posts the announcements on the Newswire, usually one article per week; in October 2026 there was a single article covering the whole Halloween month. Rockstar doesn't give an exact time. According to guides, the new bonuses go live at around 10:00 UTC: that's 5:00 a.m. ET and 10:00 a.m. in the UK in winter, and 6:00 a.m. ET and 11:00 a.m. in the UK in summer.
Big story updates (DLCs) come out separately, usually on a Tuesday: The Kortz Center Heist, for example, launched on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
What a weekly update includes
- 2X/3X bonuses: double or triple GTA$ and RP for certain modes, businesses or missions. Sometimes even more for GTA+ members.
- Discounts on cars, properties, upgrades and weapons.
- The casino podium: the car you can win on the Lucky Wheel.
- Prize Ride at the LS Car Meet: a car for meeting a race condition.
- Test drives and the Premium Deluxe Motorsport and Luxury Autos showrooms.
- Gun Van: a van full of weapons whose location changes daily.
- The weekly challenge and log-in gifts.
- Heist targets: which paintings are in Kortz Center and which cars to steal for the Salvage Yard.

Heist Event: guaranteed targets and rewards
From November 5 to 11, 2026, GTA Online is running the Heist Event, the first one for The Kortz Center Heist. Per the Rockstar Newswire:
- In The Kortz Center Heist you're guaranteed to find The Outcome of Endeavour, previously only available to those who reached Elitist status in this summer's Fine Art Collector program.
- In The Cayo Perico Heist the Panther Statue is the guaranteed primary target on your first approach.
- Play any time through November 11 to get The Great Circle Back painting for your Mansion walls.
- You can find a crew in #the-heist-board on the Rockstar Games Discord.
- GTA+: the Grotti Itali RSX (Sports) is free to claim through December 9.
The weekly challenge is to win an Adversary Mode, for GTA$100,000 (per the Rockstar Intel roundup).

On November 19, GTA 6 comes out.
How not to miss the bonuses
- Check this page every Thursday: we update it when the new week goes live.
- 2X/3X bonuses only last until the next Thursday, so play the boosted modes while they are active.
- Buy cars and properties on sale if you've wanted those exact ones for a while: sales come back, but not on a schedule.
- GTA+ members get separate monthly bonuses and higher multipliers on certain modes.
