The GTA 6 release date is November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-loading from November 10. Here is when the game is likely to unlock in the US, UK and Europe, how the date was pushed back twice and whether another delay is possible.
When GTA 6 comes out
The official GTA 6 release date is November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games announced it on November 6, 2025, and it has not changed since: in August 2026 Take-Two built its full-year financial forecast on the "November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI".
The game launches only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There will be no PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 or PC version at launch.
What time GTA 6 unlocks
Rockstar has not given an exact time. In every region we checked, PlayStation Store and Xbox Store list access from 12:00 AM local time on November 19. In the US that means 12:00 AM Eastern for the whole country, which is 05:00 UTC.
This means UK players get in five hours before the US East Coast; the full list of regions is in the table below. Keep in mind these are store listings, not a statement from Rockstar, and the time may change.
Pre-loading starts on November 10, nine days before launch: on PS5 at midnight local time, on Xbox Series X|S at 00:00 GMT for all regions (7:00 PM ET on November 9). According to Rockstar Newswire, the download is up to 212 GB depending on your device, so free up plenty of storage. Boxed copies with a download code go on sale on November 12. A live timer is on our GTA 6 countdown page.

Regions without an asterisk were checked against PlayStation Store listings on October 31, 2026; Xbox Store shows the same (checked for the US, the UK and Germany). * For regions with an asterisk the time is calculated with the same “midnight store time” rule and cross-checked with gaming outlets' tables; we didn't open those countries' storefronts ourselves. The time depends on the region of your PlayStation or Xbox account, not on where you physically are. Rockstar hasn't announced an unlock hour, so stores may change it.
