The fastest cars in GTA San Andreas: where to find them and how much exports pay

Updated: 06.11.2026 Author: Alex Rayne
A red convertible with flame paint drives down a Los Santos street past tall lattice towers in the original GTA San Andreas

The fastest cars in GTA San Andreas according to the game files, why rankings differ, where to find the Infernus, Turismo, Bullet, NRG-500, Hydra, Rhino and jetpack, all 30 Exports and Imports cars and Wang Cars.

In short
  • According to the game files, the fastest cars in GTA San Andreas are the Infernus and Turismo at 240 km/h each. Next come the Bullet, Cheetah and Super GT (230), Hotring Racer (220) and Banshee (200).
  • Actual speedometer speed is lower: GTABase measured the Infernus in-game at about 222 km/h.
  • Rankings in guides differ because some use game-file numbers and others use in-game measurements.
  • Exports and Imports at the Easter Basin docks has 3 lists of 10 cars. Bonuses are $50,000, $100,000 and $200,000, for up to $1,444,000 in total. For 100% you need to deliver all 30.
  • After 100%, a Hydra and a Rhino wait near Sweet's house; the jetpack is at the Verdant Meadows airstrip after the mission Green Goo.
  • The game file has 212 vehicle models (213 with the jetpack, per GTA Wiki); GTABase counts 189 — the sources count differently.

How many vehicles are in GTA San Andreas and which classes

The original game's vehicles.ide file has 212 vehicle entries. GTA Wiki also adds the jetpack to its list, for 213 in total. The class breakdown below follows GTA Wiki.

ClassCountExamples

Jetpack (not a vehicle in the game files)1Jetpack

Why guides give different numbers: GTA Wiki counts every entry in the game file, including trailers, train carriages and variants of the same model — three Hotring Racers, three Monsters, the beat-up Sadler and Glendale. GTABase lists 189 models in its database and doesn't say which entries it leaves out. So "212" and "189" aren't a mistake, just two ways of counting.

Fastest cars in GTA San Andreas: table

The figures below are the top speed parameter from the handling.cfg file. GTABase labels it "Top Speed (Game Files)", GTA Wiki labels it handling_top_speed. Sportskeeda gives the same values in its Definitive Edition guide.

RankCarGame-file speedDrive / massReal-life model
1Infernus240 km/h (149 mph)AWD, 1400 kgHonda NSX
1Turismo240 km/h (149 mph)AWD, 1400 kgFerrari F40

3Cheetah230 km/h (143 mph)RWD, 1200 kgFerrari Testarossa
3Super GT230 km/h (143 mph)RWD, 1400 kgMitsubishi 3000GT*
6Hotring Racer220 km/h (137 mph)RWD, 1600 kgFord Thunderbird (NASCAR)
7Banshee200 km/h (124 mph)RWD, 1400 kgDodge Viper RT/10

Real-life models are per GTABase and GTA Wiki, which agree here. *Super GT: GTABase names the Mitsubishi 3000GT, while GTA Wiki treats it as a mix of influences, mainly the SARD MC8 race car.

The speedometer shows lower numbers. GTABase measured the Infernus in-game and got 222 km/h (138 mph) — that's its own measurement, and other sources don't repeat it.

The Infernus and Turismo share the same top speed. The Infernus accelerates faster but gets loose at high speed. The Bullet is slightly slower but handles better.

Why fastest-car rankings differ

Guides have different lists because of where their numbers come from:

  • Game files (car pages on GTABase and GTA Wiki, Sportskeeda): Infernus = Turismo > Bullet = Cheetah = Super GT > Hotring Racer > Banshee.
  • In-game measurements (GTABase's "Top 10 fastest" article): the Hotring Racer is 2nd, the Banshee 3rd, and the Turismo only 5th.
  • GTA Wiki contradicts itself: the Hotring Racer page calls it the "second fastest car", while the Bullet page gives the order Infernus, Turismo, Bullet, Cheetah, Hotring.

We go by the game files: it's the same number across three sources. That's why the Infernus and Turismo share first place.

Jetpack—Verdant Meadows airstrip after the mission Green Goo

At the military bases (Easter Basin Naval Station, Area 69), CJ gets a 5-star wanted level immediately.

The Rhino at Area 69 appears in the second half of the game, but sources give different conditions: GTA Wiki says after the mission Verdant Meadows (buying the airstrip), GTABase says after Black Project.

CJ first steals the jetpack in the mission Black Project at Area 69 and uses it in Green Goo. Per GTA Wiki, you can only fire one-handed weapons while wearing it: a pistol, Tec-9, Micro SMG or sawn-off shotgun. The weapons themselves are covered on the GTA San Andreas weapons page.

Vehicle cheats

The Rhino, Hydra, Hunter, jetpack, Hotring Racer and other vehicles can be spawned with codes. All codes for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and mobile are on the GTA San Andreas cheats page.

In the Definitive Edition, cheats disable achievements. A cheat-spawned car won't work for exports either: per GTA Wiki, a Rancher spawned with a code isn't accepted at the docks.

Exports and Imports: how car exports work

Exports unlock after the mission Customs Fast Track — one of the four Wang Cars showroom missions. The board with the list is at the Easter Basin docks in San Fierro.

  • There are 3 lists of 10 cars, unlocked one after another. The game accepts cars from a list in any order.
  • Each car has to be delivered onto the freighter. Per GTA Wiki, you can lift it on with the magnet crane or, if the car is small, drive up the ramp; PowerPyx only mentions the crane.
  • The payout depends on the car's condition: the less damage, the more money. Prices in the tables are the maximum for an undamaged car.
  • Bonus for a full list: 1st — $50,000, 2nd — $100,000, 3rd — $200,000.
  • Maximum for the cars: list 1 — $381,000, list 2 — $352,000, list 3 — $361,000. With the bonuses, that's $1,444,000.

For 100% in GTA San Andreas you need to deliver all 30 cars. In the Definitive Edition this earns the A Legitimate Business achievement (see achievements).

The cars appear at the listed spots while they're on the active list. Numbering follows GTA Wiki; other guides use a different order.

Imports: how to buy a car you've already delivered

Once a car is delivered, you can buy that model from the board at the docks for 80% of its maximum export price: the Infernus and Turismo cost $76,000 each, the Bullet and Super GT $84,000 each, the Banshee $36,000. What's on the board depends on the day of the week and the order in which you delivered cars.

The schedule is the same in GTA Wiki and GTABase. Right after Customs Fast Track the board has the three cars from that mission's containers — Club, Perennial and Jester — and Saturday starts out empty. After that, every delivered car takes its slot in the schedule, and delivering 5 cars or a full list adds a bonus car that isn't on any export list.

Example: the first car you deliver from list 1 shows up in imports on Saturday, the second on Sunday. If you want to buy a specific car later, remember in which order you delivered it.

Wang Cars and garages

The Wang Cars showroom is in Downtown, San Fierro, a little way up the street from CJ's garage in Doherty. It costs $50,000.

  • Per GTA Wiki, you can buy the showroom after the driving school and the mission Yay Ka-Boom-Boom, once Jethro calls.
  • The showroom's four missions — Zeroing In, Test Drive, Customs Fast Track and Puncture Wounds — are needed for 100%. The third one unlocks exports.
  • Per GTA Wiki, after the missions the showroom earns up to $8,000 a day.

Keep rare cars in a safehouse garage. That's also how you hang on to cars handed out in races, like the Turismo or NRG-500. Which houses have a garage is on the GTA San Andreas properties page.

While CJ is dating Michelle, her garage in Downtown, San Fierro, works as a free Pay 'n' Spray. More in the GTA San Andreas girlfriends guide.

Definitive Edition and mobile version

The Definitive Edition has the same 30 export cars and the same payouts: the PowerPyx guide for the remaster matches GTABase and GTA Wiki. Sportskeeda gives the speeds in the table above specifically for the Definitive Edition. For version differences in general, see the platforms and mobile version pages.
