What CJ needs to look like for each girlfriend
Guides agree on the gist of the requirements, but the numbers differ: GTA Wiki takes them from the game scripts, PowerPyx gives its own for the Definitive Edition. Both sets are below.

The easiest option is to collect all 50 oysters: that removes every requirement. You change muscle and fat through the gyms and food.
How to check CJ's build and sex appeal
Open the pause menu → Stats → Player. Fat, Muscle and Sex Appeal are shown there as percentages — compare them with the thresholds in the table above.
- Muscle grows at the gym on the bench and dumbbells; the treadmill and exercise bike burn fat. Per GTA Wiki and GTABase, in one in-game day you can lose up to 40% fat or gain up to 20% muscle or stamina, after which you have to wait until the next day. Gym locations are in the side missions guide.
- Fat goes up with food, including meals on dates.
- Sex appeal, per GTA Wiki, depends on CJ's look (haircut, clothes, accessories, tattoos) and on the last vehicle he drove: a damaged vehicle gives less. Fat and muscle don't affect it.

GTA Wiki and GTABase agree on which places fail a date. Beyond food, per GTABase, Michelle hates slow driving and crashes, and a date with Barbara fails if the drive to the club and back takes too long. Per GTA Wiki, Katie says she wants you to drive faster and Barbara slower, but the on-screen prompts say the opposite — follow the prompts.
How the relationship grows
- Per GTA Wiki, a successful date adds 5%, being invited in "for coffee" adds 10%, and a failed date takes away 5%. A kiss or a gift is worth ±1%.
- Don't ignore your girlfriend's calls: the relationship drops, and at zero she dumps CJ.
- If a girlfriend has died or dumped CJ, Helena, Katie, Michelle and Barbara go back to where you first met them once all 50 oysters are collected. Denise and Millie don't — they're gone for good.
- There's a shortcut for Millie: show up for a date in the Gimp Suit (it appears in your wardrobe after Key to Her Heart) and you get invited in "for coffee" straight away.

Per GTA Wiki and PowerPyx, Michelle's perk works from the start of the relationship; per GTABase, from 40%. GTA Wiki treats the Sadler at Helena's farm as an ordinary car that's always parked there, while GTABase and Gameranx call it the 100% reward.
Katie's perk kicks in at the hospital near her home if CJ dies in San Fierro. Barbara's works at the police station next to her.
Millie and the Caligula's keycard
Millie is a croupier at the Caligula's Palace casino. CJ meets her in Woozie's mission Key to Her Heart, part of the setup for the casino heist. You have to tail Millie from the casino to the sex shop, grab the Gimp Suit, stop the real "gimp" from reaching her house and ring her doorbell.
The keycard is needed for the mission Breaking the Bank at Caligula's. There are two ways to get it:
- Dating. At roughly 35% Millie calls and tells you to pick up the card and the code in her bedroom.
- Kill Millie during a date. Woozie calls and says you can grab the card from her house. It's faster and doesn't affect 100%, but Millie is gone for good.
Per GTA Wiki, after the heist Millie calls asking for her cut, and the story never mentions her again.
Do you need girlfriends for 100%?
A common myth is that 100% requires dating at least Denise and Millie. It doesn't. No dates with any girlfriend are needed: GTA Wiki explicitly lists "100% relationship with all six" as optional, and GTABase, PowerPyx and GTABoss say the same.
- Denise — meeting her is unavoidable, since Burning Desire is a story mission. But you don't have to keep dating her.
- Millie — Key to Her Heart and the Caligula's heist count toward 100%, so you do need the keycard. But you can replace the dates with killing her.

The Not a Player achievement in the Definitive Edition
In the Definitive Edition, the Not a Player achievement is tied to dating. Its condition is described differently: our GTA San Andreas achievements page says at least one date with each of the six girlfriends, while PowerPyx says starting a date is enough. Check the achievement description in your game; the safer bet is to finish a date with each one.
Remember: Denise and Millie don't come back after dying, so if you haven't unlocked the achievement yet, don't lose them early — in particular, don't kill Millie for the keycard.
Differences between versions
Definitive Edition guides (PowerPyx, Gameranx) list the same six girlfriends, the same locations and the same rewards. The other changes are per GTA Wiki:
- In the 2014 enhanced version (Xbox 360, PS3, Steam) and on mobile, CJ keeps his weapons after the hospital anyway, so all that's left of Katie's perk is the free treatment.
- The song Killing in the Name from a failed date was removed for licensing reasons (enhanced version, mobile, PS4 Classic, Definitive Edition) — the same romantic tune now plays instead.
- On iOS and Android, when Michelle wants to drive, CJ gets out of the car but doesn't switch seats, and the date falls apart.
- Free roam for two with a girlfriend is only available on PS2 and Xbox.

Do you need girlfriends for 100% in GTA San Andreas?
No. You don't need to date any of them. All you need from Millie is the keycard for the Caligula's heist, and you can get it without dating her.
How do you get Millie's keycard?
Get the relationship to roughly 35% and Millie will tell you where the card is. Or kill Millie during a date, and Woozie will tell you to pick up the card from her house.
What do girlfriends give you in GTA San Andreas?

Why won't my girlfriend go on a date?
Most often CJ doesn't meet her looks requirements, or you've shown up outside her hours. All the requirements go away if you collect the 50 oysters.
