GTA 6 trophies and achievements: what we know before launch and when the list arrives

Yes. The GTA VI listing in the Xbox Store names "Xbox achievements" among the game's features, so achievements on Xbox Series X|S are certain. On PlayStation 5, trophies are a mandatory part of every game, but Sony hasn't shown the list yet.

As of November 5, 2026, there is no official list of trophies or achievements: neither Rockstar, PlayStation Store nor Xbox Store has published names, counts or unlock conditions. We last checked the stores on October 31.

The game launches on November 19, 2026, only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version hasn't been announced, so there will be no Steam or Rockstar Games Launcher achievements at launch.

The trophy list for a big game usually becomes visible on the PlayStation Network shortly before release, once the game lands in players' libraries. For GTA 6, that moment is close:

• November 10: pre-loading starts, on PS5 at midnight local time and on Xbox Series X|S at 00:00 GMT (7:00 PM ET on November 9). Rockstar announced this on Newswire on November 3.
• November 12: boxed copies with a download code go on sale.
• November 19: the game launches; according to PlayStation Store, it unlocks at midnight local time, which is 12:00 AM GMT in the UK and 12:00 AM ET across the US.

There's no guarantee the list will appear during pre-loading: Rockstar hasn't given a date. We'll check the PlayStation Network and Xbox every day from November 10. How to get your console ready is covered in our guide on how to get ready for GTA 6 and on the GTA 6 file size page.

Officially, it's unknown: neither Rockstar nor Sony has said anything about a GTA 6 platinum trophy. Both of the studio's previous big games had one:

• GTA 5: the platinum Los Santos Legend, which needs only the base trophies, not the ones added by updates;
• Red Dead Redemption 2: the platinum Legend of the West, which needs every trophy, online ones included.

Xbox has no platinum; Gamerscore is what counts there. The base lists of GTA 5 and RDR2 were worth 1,000 points each.

One important difference with GTA 6: Rockstar calls it a "single player experience", and there is no online mode at launch. In GTA 5 and RDR2, 17 trophies each were tied to online play and made up the longest part of the platinum. So in our view the GTA 6 list shouldn't include online trophies at launch, but that's our conclusion, not a statement from Rockstar. What's known about online is on the GTA 6 Online page.

This is data on Rockstar's previous games, not on GTA 6. It shows how the studio usually builds its lists.

Counts are from the official lists on Steam, GTABase and the PowerPyx guides. The GTA 5 list grew along with the game: on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 it had 49 trophies and the platinum.

What both games have in common:

• story trophies are hidden and awarded for specific missions or chapters, so you can't miss them;
• there are trophies for gold medals in missions: both games require 70;
• there are trophies for collectibles (50 spaceship parts in GTA 5, cigarette cards and dinosaur bones in RDR2) and for 100% completion;
• some trophies are missable if you don't do something before a certain point in the story.

The full lists with conditions are on the GTA 5 achievements and RDR2 trophies pages.

Rockstar hasn't said what trophies will be awarded for. But a number of the game's systems have already been officially shown or described by the developers, and in GTA 5 and RDR2 trophies were usually tied to exactly these kinds of things. This is our assumption, not data from the list:

• The story is split into chapters, according to Rockstar Support in its description of the Ultimate Edition content. In RDR2 there was a trophy for every chapter.
• Animals: more than 170 species, including rare and legendary ones (Game Informer, citing Rockstar). RDR2 had trophies for studying and skinning every species. More on the GTA 6 animals page.
• Activities in the world: fishing, hunting, racing, the gym, diving. The list is on the GTA 6 side activities page.
• Robberies: from convenience stores and gas stations to jewelry stores and small banks, according to Rob Nelson (Rockstar North). More in our guide on how to make money in GTA 6.

Rockstar hasn't said whether GTA 6 will have cheat codes; details are on the GTA 6 cheats page. In previous games cheats affected trophies: in GTA 5 they temporarily disabled achievements until the end of the session, and in RDR2 the game wouldn't save or award trophies with a cheat active. We'll check how GTA 6 handles it after launch.

This is what the table will look like. It's empty for now because there's no official list:

• Trophy: the name in English, as in the game, plus the grade (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) and Gamerscore points.
• How to unlock: the condition from the list. Story trophies will be marked without spoilers.
• Tip: what's missable, what's best done in parallel, and what to leave until the end of the story. We'll add these after November 19, once we've checked them in the game.

Unofficial GTA 6 trophy lists exist, but we don't reproduce them because they're unconfirmed. We'll post the news about the official list right away on our Telegram channel @gtatop_news.
