Nobody knows the fastest car in GTA 6 before launch: Rockstar doesn't publish top speeds, and they can only be measured in the game itself. We've gathered every model Rockstar has officially named as of November 5, 2026, and explain how we'll build our ranking after November 19.

What is the fastest car in GTA 6
As of November 5, 2026, it's unknown. The game launches on November 19, and until then nobody apart from the developers and a few journalists at closed previews has been behind the wheel. None of them measured or published any speeds.
Rockstar didn't give top speeds in previous games either: in GTA 5 the figures in the menu are relative bars, so rankings there were built on player measurements. It will be the same with GTA 6.
So any "top 10 fastest cars in GTA 6" that appeared before release is guesswork, models "recognized" by eye from the trailers, or leaked content. There are also unofficial lists of hundreds of cars, but we don't reproduce them because they're unconfirmed.
Cars Rockstar has officially named
All official GTA 6 vehicle names come from the edition contents and the pre-order bonus, as listed on the editions page on the Rockstar website and the game's PlayStation Store listing.
| Model | Type | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| '95 Grotti Cheetah | sports car | Ultimate Edition |
| '55 Vapid Stanier | sedan | Vintage Vice City Pack bonus for purchases by November 20, together with a garage |
| '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy | buggy | Ultimate Edition, together with the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay |
| Ganado (Retro Build) | car | Ultimate Edition |
| Dinka Enduro | motorcycle | Ultimate Edition, a vehicle at Jason's safehouse |
| Shitzu Squalo | speedboat | Ultimate Edition |
| Crest | kayak | Ultimate Edition, a vehicle at Jason's safehouse |
The Ultimate Edition also includes a classic car collection: jobs for the fixer Wyman. Rockstar hasn't listed the specific models in this collection. According to Rockstar's help page, Ultimate content unlocks gradually, with each chapter of the story.
Which edition to choose and how much it costs is on the GTA 6 price page.
What was shown without names
The trailers and the 27-minute An Extended Look video (August 27, 2026) show far more vehicles than have been named in text:
- police cars and a police helicopter;
- sports cars in street races;
- dirt bikes in off-road races;
- airboats in the swamps and speedboats;
- monster trucks: The New York Times, after its visit to Rockstar North, also mentions races with them.
Rockstar hasn't named these models. Racing is one of the confirmed side activities; what else you can do in Leonida is collected on the things to do in GTA 6 page.
What's already known about cars in gameplay
The "best" car isn't only about speed. From the Extended Look showcase and Rob Nelson of Rockstar North in his interviews with Famitsu and IGN, here's what we know:
- Stealing. You can steal a car quietly with a lockpick, or by smashing the window. Older models can be hot-wired; newer ones need a key-cloning device.
- A scanner on your phone. It shows whether a car is locked, whether it has an alarm and a tracker, how much Pay ’n’ Spray or a fence will pay for it, and how much it costs to register it in your name (IGN, as summarized by other outlets).
- Value. A damaged car is worth less, so it's worth repairing it before you sell.
- Fuel. Cars need refueling; Nelson says it takes about 10 seconds. Gas stations also have chargers for electric cars.
- Garages. You can buy them, starting with ones for three cars.
- Personal car. You can call it at any time, and it holds spare clothes and the weapons you've bought (IGN, as summarized by other outlets).
- Customization. Pay ’n’ Spray repairs and resprays, while complex liveries are done at tuning shops. Rockstar lists the Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s shops among the locations unlocked by the Ultimate Edition.
How all this affects your income is covered in our guide on how to make money in GTA 6. A full overview of vehicles is on the GTA 6 cars page.
How we'll build our ranking of the fastest cars
After November 19 we'll measure the cars ourselves, the way players did it in GTA 5:
- the same long straight, dry weather, the same driver;
- measurements of the stock version and, if tuning is available, the fully upgraded one;
- several runs per model, with the average going into the table;
- if the game shows stats in the menu, we'll list them alongside, but the ranking is built on measurements.
We'll also pick the best cars for different jobs: the city, off-road, escaping the police, motorcycles and boats, plus the best free cars at the start of the game.
| Rank | Car | Class | Speed (our measurement) | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | coming after November 19 | |||
| 2 | coming after November 19 | |||
| 3 | coming after November 19 | |||
We'll only fill the table with models we've seen in the game ourselves.
For reference: the fastest cars in GTA 5
To give you something to compare against: in GTA 5 story mode, according to measurements by YouTuber Broughy1322 (which the GTABase database relies on), the fastest are three cars with almost identical speeds:
| # | GTA 5 car | Class | Speed per player measurements |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Truffade Z-Type | Sports Classics | ≈204 km/h (127 mph) |
| 2 | Truffade Adder | Super | ≈203 km/h (126 mph) |
| 3 | Vapid Pißwasser Dominator | Muscle | ≈201 km/h (125 mph) |
The gap across the top ten there is a few km/h, and it depends on tuning. The full list is on the GTA 5 cars page. Grotti, Vapid, Dinka and Shitzu are the series' fictional brands, and they're in GTA 6 too, but the stats of the new models don't follow from GTA 5 in any way.
What we'll update and when
- November 19: the first models we see in the game, with their classes and how to get them.
- The first days after launch: speed tests and a table of the fastest cars, the best cars by class, motorcycles and boats.
- Later: rare cars and where to find them, tuning and prices, if the game shows them.
