Manhunt cheats unlock with stars: 10 codes, God Mode and bonus scenes

Updated: 06.11.2026 Author: Alex Rayne
James Earl Cash sneaks through the yard of an abandoned building in Manhunt

Manhunt cheats explained: how scene stars work, which pairs of scenes on Hardcore unlock each cheat, codes for PC, Xbox and PS2, God Mode, bonus scenes for 3 stars and what you can unlock in Manhunt 2.

In short
  • Manhunt cheats aren’t available from the start: each one unlocks when you get 5 stars on Hardcore difficulty in two consecutive scenes.
  • There are 10 such cheats, plus God Mode (invincibility) after you beat the game.
  • On PC you type the code on the keyboard in the main menu; on Xbox and PS2 you enter a button combination.
  • While a cheat is on, the game doesn’t save your progress; enter the code again to turn it off.
  • Getting 3 stars across groups of five scenes unlocks 4 bonus scenes.
  • Manhunt 2 has no star-based cheats: just a few menu codes and the bananahammer mode on PC.

How stars work in Manhunt

Officially, Rockstar’s Rockstar Support help page only explains the star and bonus system. In each scene Cash earns up to 5 stars:

  • up to 3 stars for style, meaning how brutal your executions are;
  • 1 star for time;
  • 1 star if every hunter in the scene is executed.

Getting 3 stars in a given scene unlocks extras in the Bonus Features section (artwork and so on); the first one comes for 3 stars in Born Again. You can replay finished scenes through Scene Selection to earn more stars.

Rockstar’s help page says nothing about the cheats themselves. Everything below is based on the Manhunt fan wiki and GameFAQs. Both sources agree that 5 stars are only possible on Hardcore difficulty.

How to unlock and enter Manhunt cheats

  1. Set the difficulty to Hardcore.
  2. Get 5 stars in two consecutive scenes: 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and so on up to 19 and 20. Each pair unlocks one cheat.
  3. Enter the code on the title screen or in the main menu: on PC, type the word on the keyboard; on consoles, press the button combination.

Important: with a cheat turned on, the game won’t save your progress. To save again, enter the same code once more and the cheat turns off.

See the table below for scene numbers.

* For six of the PS2 combinations, the fan wiki and GameFAQs give different versions. We list the GameFAQs version because it matches the Xbox codes, where the buttons map to each other: RT = R1, White = R2, Black = L2, LT = L1. If a combination doesn’t work, check that the cheat itself is unlocked.

God Mode. Unlocks after you beat the game. GameFAQs says you need to finish it on Fetish difficulty; the fan wiki says any difficulty works. The PC code is IMINVINCIBLE.

How to plan unlocking every cheat

A cheat only unlocks for a complete pair of scenes: 5 stars in scene 1 without 5 stars in scene 2 won’t unlock anything. So it makes sense to max out both scenes of a pair in one go.

  • Style. Three of the five stars are for brutal executions, so use the most savage finishers in every scene.
  • Every hunter. Another star comes only if every hunter in the scene is executed. Miss one and you won’t get the maximum.
  • Time. The last star is for completion time.
  • Replays. If a scene came up short on stars, replay it through Scene Selection.

Remember that progress isn’t saved with a cheat on. Either turn cheats on when you no longer need to save, or switch them off with the same code before saving.

Manhunt scenes by number

You need the numbers to work out which pair of scenes unlocks a cheat. The order follows the Manhunt fan wiki; GameFAQs uses the same numbers in its cheats section.

Bonus scenes for 3 stars

Besides the 20 main scenes, Manhunt has 4 bonus scenes. Each one needs at least 3 stars across a group of five scenes, so 5 stars on Hardcore aren’t required here.

Bonus sceneHow to unlockWhat it is
Hard as Nailsat least 3★ in scenes 1–5survival against waves of the Hoods gang with a nail gun

Do the codes work on PS4 and Xbox One

The PS4 version (2016) is a PS2 Classic, meaning an emulated PS2 game. It makes sense to try the PS2 combinations there, but we found no separate confirmation that they work on PS4. Likewise, we haven’t checked whether the Xbox codes work in the version that runs on Xbox One and Series through backward compatibility.

For where to buy each version and Manhunt’s age ratings, see the Manhunt and Manhunt 2 page. Other classic Rockstar games have their own secrets too: Midnight Club codes and all L.A. Noire cases.

Manhunt 2: what you can unlock

Manhunt 2 doesn’t have star-based cheats like the first game. Codes are entered in the main menu, and on Wii also during gameplay.

EffectPlatformCode
God Mode (invincibility)Wii↓, ↓, →, ↑, ←, ↓, C, Z, C, Z, C, Z
Level selectPS2↑, ↑, ↓, ↓, ←, →, ←, →
Unlimited ammo (unverified)PS2, PSP, Wii (per the fan wiki)↑, ↓, ←, →, ↑, ↓, ←, →
Fun-Mode: weapons turn into flowers, bananas and lollipops, and flowers replace bloodPCbananahammer in the main menu

Sources mix up the Wii combinations: GameFAQs for Wii says ↑, ↑, ↓, ↓, ←, →, ←, → gives unlimited ammo and ↑, ↓, ←, →, ↑, ↓, ←, → unlocks all levels. The fan wiki and GameFAQs for PS2 say the opposite. We went with the PS2 version and marked unlimited ammo as unverified. According to the fan wiki, the PC version has no level select or unlimited ammo, and using any cheat turns off autosave.

Bonus episode Release Therapy is an alternate ending with Leo. On consoles it unlocks after you beat the game. On PC, according to the fan wiki, you also need a minimum style score in every episode, and the threshold differs between Sane and Insane modes.

Manhunt cheats FAQ

How do you unlock cheats in Manhunt?

Get 5 stars on Hardcore difficulty in two consecutive scenes (1 and 2, 3 and 4 and so on). Each pair unlocks one cheat, 10 in total. You enter the code in the main menu.

What is the invincibility cheat in Manhunt?

God Mode. It unlocks after you beat the game. The PC code is IMINVINCIBLE; on PS2 it’s ↓, ↓, ○, ↑, □, △, □, R2, ↑, ↑, L1, △.

How do you get 5 stars in Manhunt?

Play on Hardcore: 3 stars for brutal executions, 1 for time and 1 for executing every hunter in the scene. Lower difficulties don’t give 5 stars.

Why won’t Manhunt save with cheats on?

It’s by design: with a cheat on, progress isn’t saved. Enter the same code again to turn the cheat off, then save.

Do Manhunt cheats work on PS4?

The PS4 version is PS2 emulation, so it makes sense to try the PS2 combinations. But there’s no official or verified confirmation that they work there.

Does Manhunt 2 have cheats?

Yes, but only a few: God Mode on Wii, level select on PS2 and the bananahammer mode on PC. There’s also the bonus episode Release Therapy.
