What hidden packages look like and how to collect them
A Hidden Package looks like a green tiki statuette. They sit on rooftops, under bridges, inside stores and even aboard ships.
You can collect them from the first minute of the game, after the mission "In The Beginning...". But 45 packages are on the Mainland, and Tommy Vercetti only gets there after the mission "Phnom Penh '86". According to GTA Wiki, packages can only be picked up on foot — collecting from a vehicle does not count.
The game tracks your progress in the stats. According to GTA Wiki, each package also pays $100, so together with the bonus for the hundredth one you get $110,000.
Rewards for every 10 packages
Rewards appear at three safehouses: the Ocean View Hotel, the Vercetti Estate and the Hyman Condo.

The bonus for the hundredth package is exactly $100,000; the $1,000,000 figure in some lists belongs to other games in the series. The Hunter is a reward for hidden packages, not for 100% completion. According to GTA Wiki, the Hunter at Fort Baxter also appears after the final mission "Keep Your Friends Close...", even without all the packages, while the one on the Ocean Beach helipad only appears once all 100 packages are collected and the finale is done.

Numbering on this page follows GTA Wiki (fandom). Other guides, such as PowerPyx, use different numbers, but the spots are the same: 45 on Vice City Beach including Leaf Links, 5 on Starfish Island, 5 on Prawn Island and 45 on the Mainland. Do not mix numbers from different guides.

Tips for collecting all 100
- Start with the eastern island. Its packages are available before the bridges open. Work through them district by district using the tables above.
- Use a helicopter for rooftops. Without one it is hard to reach the penthouses near the Malibu Club (#22 and #24), the InterGlobal Studios roof (#45) and the Viceport cargo ship (#82). The stilt house (#1) needs a boat or a helicopter. On the Mainland, the nearest helicopter is the Maverick on the Hyman Condo rooftop helipad (per GTA Wiki and PowerPyx).
- The Sea Sparrow at 80 packages appears behind the Vercetti Estate — it makes the last twenty easier.
- Do the airport in one go. The 16 packages at Escobar International are close together, and #100 sits right at the entrance to neighboring Fort Baxter Air Base.
- The police station in Washington Beach (#15): you can walk in without a wanted level wearing the Cop Outfit.
Hidden packages across game versions
- Original (PS2 2002, PC and Xbox 2003) — 100 packages, rewards as in the table above.
- PS4 2015 (PS2 Classics) — according to GTA Wiki, it added the trophies Scouring the City (50 packages) and City Sleuth (100).
- Definitive Edition 2021 — same locations and rewards. On Steam, 100 packages earn the City Sleuth achievement ("Find 100 hidden packages").

Why can't I find any hidden packages on the Mainland?
