Find all 50 horseshoes in GTA San Andreas and see what the full set gets you

Updated: 06.11.2026 Author: Alex Rayne
Downtown Los Santos skyscrapers in the sunlight, as rendered in GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition

All 50 GTA San Andreas horseshoes with landmarks by Las Venturas district. When you can collect them, how much money and luck they give, which weapons appear at the Four Dragons, tips and Definitive Edition notes.

In short
  • GTA San Andreas has 50 horseshoes. All of them are in Las Venturas and its outskirts, out as far as Prickle Pine and K.A.C.C.
  • You pick up a horseshoe by running through it on foot. There are no markers on the map or radar.
  • Each one pays $100 and +20 Luck. Luck has no effect on anything in the game.
  • All 50 pay $100,000 and spawn four weapons outside the entrance to The Four Dragons Casino.
  • Horseshoes are required for 100%. The Definitive Edition has the same number in the same places.

When you can collect the horseshoes

The horseshoes are in place from the very start of the game. But Las Venturas only unlocks after the mission "Yay Ka-Boom-Boom". Go there earlier and CJ instantly gets a 4-star wanted level.

Some horseshoes sit on rooftops and the tops of casinos. For those you need a helicopter or the jetpack, which CJ gets in the mission "Green Goo". The rest can be reached on foot or by motorbike.

To see the city layout and where each district is, check the GTA San Andreas map.

Map: where all 50 horseshoes are

The numbers on the map match the tables below (GTA Wiki numbering). The dots are placed by in-game coordinates, so the distances between them are true to the game.

The weapons at the casino: SMG (MP5), M4, Combat Shotgun (SPAS-12) and Satchel Charges. Guides name these models differently, so we give both names. For what each one does, see the GTA San Andreas weapons section.

The weapons are not a one-off: according to iGrandTheftAuto, they reappear after you save and reload, and GTA Wiki also describes these spots as weapon spawn points. So you can restock ammo for free at the Four Dragons.

Luck is just a line in the stats. According to GTA Wiki, it was meant for the casinos but never used: it doesn't increase your winnings.

Tips for collecting the horseshoes faster

  • Grab a helicopter or the jetpack. Horseshoes on rooftops and peaks include No. 10 (the chapel), No. 17–18 (the Four Dragons and the Come-A-Lot "castle"), No. 21 (the top of The Camel's Toe pyramid) and No. 42 (the top of The Emerald Isle). According to PowerPyx, a helicopter always spawns at the San Fierro airport (Easter Bay).
  • Go by area, not by number. The Strip casinos (No. 15–33) take one run, the airport (No. 4–6) a second, Prickle Pine and the golf club (No. 47–50) a third.
  • Don't miss No. 30. It's in the underground railway tunnel; the entrance is behind the V-Rock Hotel. Watch out for trains, as iGrandTheftAuto warns.
  • Track the numbers you've found yourself. Neither the map nor the radar shows horseshoes, so it's easy to forget where you've already been.

An overview of all four sets is in the collectibles section, and the full task list is on the GTA San Andreas 100% page.

Do horseshoes differ between versions?

  • Definitive Edition (2021). The same 50 horseshoes in the same places, the same $100,000 and the same weapons at the Four Dragons. There's no separate achievement for horseshoes: the collection counts toward the Remastered 100% achievement (see achievements).
  • The 2013 mobile version and the Netflix version. Guides describe no horseshoe differences; more on these versions is on the GTA San Andreas mobile page.

GTA San Andreas horseshoes FAQ

How many horseshoes are there in GTA San Andreas?

50. All of them are in Las Venturas and its outskirts: from the airport and The Strip to Prickle Pine and K.A.C.C. Military Fuels.

What do you get for all the horseshoes in GTA San Andreas?

$100,000, Luck 1000 and four weapons outside the entrance to The Four Dragons Casino: SMG (MP5), M4, Combat Shotgun (SPAS-12) and Satchel Charges. Plus $100 for each horseshoe.

What is the Luck stat from horseshoes for?

Nothing. It's just a line in the stats. According to GTA Wiki, it was meant for the casinos, but in the game it has no effect.

Why can't I see the horseshoes on the map?

The game doesn't mark them on the map or the radar. Use the district table above.

Can you collect horseshoes before Las Venturas unlocks?

Technically they're there from the start, but until the mission "Yay Ka-Boom-Boom" entering Las Venturas gets you a 4-star wanted level. It's easier to wait for the city to unlock. You can also collect horseshoes after the story ends.

Are the horseshoe locations the same in the Definitive Edition?

Yes. The Definitive Edition has the same 50 horseshoes in the same places and the same reward.
